ITW Deltar is a division of ITW Australia Pty Ltd.
ITW Australia Pty Ltd has its head office at 74 Doncaster Road, Balwyn North. Prior to December, 1998 ITW Australia Pty Ltd was known as W A Deutsher Pty Ltd, which started in Melbourne in 1908 as a family-owned engineering firm. After a business association dating back to the 1950’s, the Deutsher family sold the business in the early 1980’s to Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Inc, an American publicly-listed company with headquarters in Chicago.
ITW is a leading international business corporation with nearly 100 years of history, ITW is a diversified manufacturer of advanced industrial technology. Specifically, we design and produce an array of highly engineered fasteners and components, equipment and consumable systems, and specialty products and equipment for customers around the world.
The 825 decentralized business units that comprise our international business corporation are located in 52 countries and employ approximately 60,000 men and women who are focused on creating value-added products and innovative customer solutions.
The ITW Deltar business centres on manufacture of injection moulded fasteners and components for the automotive industry. The first production commenced at the South Road, Moorabbin site in 1964, when we were known as “Fastex.” After a slow beginning we have expanded to a large number of injection moulding machines. Our product development department and model shop have invented hundreds of new and unique plastic fasteners and components, and we now produce some millions of plastic components each month.
We have been at our present site in Jacks Road, South Oakleigh since 1982.
ITW Deltar is part of the ITW Automotive and Industrial Components Group. This group includes businesses at more than 100 locations worldwide, making a range of products including metal and plastic fasteners, components, assemblies, stampings, switches and switchpanels; speciality automotive products, static control, spot cooling and air amplification systems.
There are some 25 ITW Deltar businesses around the world, with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
